Is it your goal to learn English or Portuguese and wish it was easier?

Since the 1960’s, scientific research has proven that aerobic exercise is the brain fertilizer you’ve been searching for. Your aerobic fitness boosts your brain fitness! Aerobic exercise grows your brain and improves your memory, cognitive abilities and capacity to learn a new language through the mechanisms known as neurogenesis and neuroplasticity.

Your cognitive health – the ability to clearly think, learn, sense, remember and interact – relies on your brain health. Did you know you have the power to optimize your brain health at any age?

Three of the significant determinants of brain health include physical activity, lifelong learning and social connection. LINGUAEROBICS has developed physically active language learning classes that incorporate physical aerobic group exercise into language learning lessons. Through our fun and effective triadic structure of combining aerobics, language learning and socializing into one convenient class, you may find our classes useful and time efficient due to your enhanced efficacy to learn a new language. 

Our Founders

LINGUAEROBICS was co-founded by Christine Tapajos, who has dedicated her career to language teaching and Rose Lauren, who is passionate about motivating people to stay active as a group fitness instructor. Christine and Rose initially joined forces on the college campuses of the United States where Christine completed her degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Rose earned her degree in Exercise Science and Personal Training. They established LINGUAEROBICS to provide physically active language learning classes based on the irrefutable fact that exercise, socializing and learning optimize brain health.

 

Christine Tapajos

Originally from Brazil, Christine Tapajos followed in her father’s footsteps and received her law degree and became an attorney. Christine relocated to the United States as a Portuguese-speaking monolingual adult. Subsequently, she learned English academically and Spanish socially. This is when she cultivated her passion for languages and communication. As a former adult language learner herself, it is her goal to facilitate language learning for adults.

Rose Lauren 

was born and raised in the United States. Her inclination for physical fitness began in childhood as a Little League Tee-Ball player and Kenpo Karate martial artist. She believes the relationship with our bodies is one of the most important relationships we experience. She empowers her students to reach their fitness goals safely in a culture of fun. Specializing in older adult group fitness, she understands that what matters most is being physically and cognitively independent throughout our lives.
